Motion reel
I primarily use After Effects, Cinema 4D, Illustrator and Photoshop to create compelling video and motion content. This work allows me to transform static campaign assets into living, attention-grabbing experiences that has made brands stand out. Over the years I’ve worked closely with a wide variety of clients from large national corporations to local regional companies.

Frost history video
Rabbit Foot created this video for Frost Bank to explain the 150 year history of the bank. The video includes some pretty nifty features that the bank’s founders would have definitely considered witchcraft in 1868, like live action video, 3D creation/compositing, and animation to accomplish the goal. I contributed by integrating all 3D text animations within the full video, retouching of tracked footage, created supplemental 3D graphical elements to scenes, prepped assets for use in 3D scenes, and created 3D setups at the tail end of the video. Within the Frost Bank organization, this video is proudly shown to each new employee during orientation. It’s also on display throughout the hundred or so Frost Bank lobbies so customers can feel good about leaving all of their cash behind when they leave. I should clarify, I’m not a witch. I’m an animator.

Sea Monkey family 3D modeling and 3D print creation for YETI
For YETI’s first retail store, they went all out and restored a historic downtown Austin building at the northwest corner of Congress Avenue and Barton Springs Road. Among many of the experiential exhibits we designed within the space, one component was a skiff boat scene complete with marshland scene. Tim Cole on our creative team came up with the idea to place an easter egg within the epoxy of the weeds and water. We decided to 3D model and print a Sea Monkey family that could surprise customers if they looked hard enough. I modeled the family in Cinema4D and tested prints on our own 3D printer. Once final sign off, the Yeti Innovation Center took our 3D model and printed it at their lab before being shipped to the skiff scene manufacturer prior to the water epoxy mold. No one should ever forget the true disappointment of the mail order Sea Monkey franchise.

3D modeling and compositing for Lemi Shine
For promoting a new line of product for Lemi Shine, I was tasked with creating a video where the related messaging would be tumbled and washed away within the compartment of a washing machine. It was accomplished using a combination of 2D animation within After Effects and 3D models/animations from Cinema 4D.

Social video for Shiner
We shot this in-house and I put together this quick edit to promote the birthday beer from Shiner. The video was used across multiple social media channels.

Sports arena video graphics
Sports arenas around the country are increasingly using digital boards for advertising options. Utilizing bold graphics and simple layouts, we have created a number of these videos for our clients. Here is a short collection we did for Whataburger. The videos typically run for a a short amount of time and span throughout the interior of the arena space. You have a short moment and limited pixel size to get the attention of the attendee.

Texas Observer promotional video
Founded in 1954, the Observer has covered issues that are often ignored or underreported by other media. The organization strives to expose injustice and to produce the kind of impact journalism that changes people’s lives for the better. For an event hosted by the Texas Observer, Rabbit Foot created this video for an annual fundraising event in Austin, Texas. Although I provided support throughout the entire film, some specific animations were completely my contribution. Logo fly-in: 00:40-00:45, 2D animation of illustration: 03:30-03:32, Koch Brothers smoke animation: 03:44-03:46, 2D and 3D animation of illustration: 03:50-03:52.

We went Cuckoo for Shiner
We wanted to create an impactful launch for Shiner’s newest brew, White Wing Belgian Ale. So we designed a custom beer tap that, when pulled, triggered a hand-made German-style cuckoo clock on the wall behind the bartender (obviously, we swapped out the crazy bird for a beer stein). Concept, design, and digital execution was done by the internal digital team at McJ. We worked with a local cabinet builder to create the clock itself and built out all the animatronics ourselves. Thirsty Texans drank all the beer.

Frostbank
Here is a string out of Digital Marketing Screens I have created over the years with McGarrah Jessee. Frost Bank runs these videos throughout their network of bank lobby locations to inform their employees and customer base. We have repurposed many of these videos for other digital platforms.

Social video for SkinnyPop porcorn
I wanted to share this video because it illustrates how McJ and Rabbit Foot work together to quickly and efficiently concept, design and produce a video for our client. With minimal crew and equipment, we shot video (to be keyed out later) and overlaid on another layer of video. The concept portrayed the POV of a person munching on their SkinnyPop popcorn while drowning out the sound of the one relative we all have, the one that gets overly political and/or describes conspiracy theories at a family event.

Zippo
Known worldwide for its windproof lighters since 1932, Zippo introduced reusable hand warmers in 2010 as a way to diversify beyond lighters and address a declining cigarette use. This new product just fits with their identity of durability, reliability and outdoor utility. McJ created a series of online video ads to promote their product within a broader lifestyle and outdoor products category.
